Our teams all baked homemade cakes, buns, tarts and truffles which were enjoyed by the local communities and were sold for £1 a slice.


In total the pharmacies raised £675.62 for Macmillan Cancer Support which will be sent and used to help the 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK and their families.

World's biggest coffee morning


On Friday 30th September, Macmillan Cancer Support held the 'World’s Biggest Coffee Morning' which 7 of our pharmacies took part in.

Their charity month started with a coffee morning in the recently renovated pharmacy raising £130 for Candlelighters, a children’s cancer charity who supports families across Yorkshire.


After this, a team member at the pharmacy, Gail Atkinson took part in the Alzheimer’s Society annual Memory Walk. Through sponsorship from family, friends and Southowram pharmacy patients £267 was raised.


Ending their charity month, a second coffee morning was held as the pharmacy took part in the Macmillan Cancer Support ‘World Biggest Coffee Morning’ raising £185 from the sale of homemade cakes and deserts.

The team at have been very busy in the last month fundraising for three different charities with their efforts raising over £550 in total.

David Mowat the MP for Warrington South and the recently appointed Minister in the Dept. of Health with responsibility for Community Health & Care which includes Pharmacy, recently visited Hood Manor Pharmacy in Warrington took the opportunity to have his flu vaccination during his visit.


Steve Jeffers, CEO, who met the MP on the day said: 'I invited David to our pharmacy to show him all the services we currently offer from our pharmacies and how with government support community pharmacy could perform a wider role within the primary healthcare sector.'

This new acquisition means that the Hub pharmacy now operates 19 pharmacies, all offering a range of innovative and integrated pharmacy services tailored to their local communities.


The pharmacy is a strong fit because of its community focus and modern premises adjacent to the Misterton Group Practice of Dr Brownson and Dr Ahmed.

A new acquisition sees the Hub pharmacy take ownership of Misterton Pharmacy in North Nottinghamshire.

As part ot our ongoing buy and build strategy this acquisition takes the estate total to 18 pharmacies in the North of England.
