We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted in three categories at the upcoming Chemist + Druggist Awards.

 

We have been shortlisted in the following categories:

 

Online Initiative of the Year – KPI reporting software

Community Pharmacist of the Year – Imran Mahmood, Pharmacy Manager at Southowram Pharmacy

The new pharmacy premises have been refurbished and dramatically improved to reflect the Hub pharmacy’s modern approach to community health and offer a range of extra healthcare services to the West Kirby community. Including the launch of a travel clinic service, which provides expert advice and vaccinations to anyone travelling overseas without needing an appointment.

 

Welsh’s Pharmacy Manager, Fiona Hazon and her pharmacy team have been delighted with the relocation and said:

 

'Myself and my team are really proud to be working in our new, purpose built pharmacy...

 

We have had a lot of compliments on the new store from our existing patients and also a lot of new patients which is great!'

 

Welsh's Pharmacy in West Kirby re-opens

 

The Mayor of Wirral, Pat Hackett, officially opened Welsh’s Pharmacy in West Kirby which has relocated to Grange Road.

£10,060 has been raised for 34 different local and national charities during 52 events including cake sales, sponsored runs and raffles.

 

All 20 pharmacies across the Hub pharmacy estate took part including a 10k run at Chorley Pharmacy raising £1,200 for Children’s Cancer Charity, climbing Mount Snowdon for Dementia UK at Wellfield Pharmacy in Rochdale raising £920 and a book sale in Welsh’s Pharmacy in West Kirby raising £686 for Maggie’s Merseyside Centre at The Clatterbridge.

 

Steve Jeffers, CEO of the Hub pharmacy said 'Part of the hub pharmacy’s ethos is to support our local communities as much as possible and this includes the local charities. We encourage our pharmacies to participate in at least one charity fundraising event every quarter.

Patients in the pharmacy had the opportunity to leave their Warrington Wolves memories which would be shared with schools and care homes in Warrington. The team selected a memory and with the winner receiving a signed sock monkey from one of the 1st team players.

 

The team chose Lisa's memory of her visit to the Warrington Wolves stadium to remember 'The Warrior 6', a group of soldiers that were killed while on active service in Afghanistan.

 

Lisa was presented with her prize by 1st team players Joe Westerman, Toby and George King along with Andy Reid - Standing Tall who is undertaking his latest challenge in memory of the group on the Balfour Beatty Warrior Challenge.

The team were joined by the Mayor of Calderdale, Howard Blagbrough, to officially re-open the pharmacy.

 

The pharmacy has been refurbished and dramatically improved to reflect the Hub pharmacy’s modern approach to community health and offer a range of extra healthcare services to the Halifax community.

 

The main changes include reducing the retail area, creating 2 separate dispensaries with modern continental drawers, 2 upgraded consultation rooms, new signage, improved lighting and improved staff facilities.

At the event we were also joined by two representatives of the Rabia Institute, a local charity who came to personally thank the pharmacy team with an appreciation award for their support and generous donations.

 

 

 

Horne Street Pharmacy Official Re-opening
